Aylesbury RFC
Player’s Dinner
Friday 16th May 2008

Just £20 will guarantee your seat at this Gala evening featuring Fine Cuisine, Entertainment and Culture (well, some scran, bad jokes and the odd bacterial infection)

This will also mark the last time certain of our esteemed Vets Squad can attend the dinner as “Players” so please ensure you join your team-mates/elders and betters for this celebration of seasons past and present.

Beer will be a budget-busting £1 per pint and yes, Alastair Darling IS officially banned from the event.

Please secure your place ASAP by registering your interest with your team captain and furnishing him with the required £20.

Limited Tickets will be available on the night for £25 so get in early to guarantee a cheap seat.

Dress Code for the evening will be Shirt, Club Tie and NO JEANS.

Aylesbury RFC Summer Function
Written by Dean Gray
Wednesday, 02 April 2008

Following the repeated success of the Annual Burns Supper over recent years, it is planned that to make use of the marquee which will be at the club in July, we follow the same format.

This will be on Saturday 19th July, tables of 10, ticket around £30-35, 4 course dinner, highland dancing, disco and possibly a speaker.

For those of you who have not attended the Burns Supper, it is a fantastic event and is a sell-out, without advertising, every year it has been held.

This will be to a maximum of 200 and to gauge interest please let me know if you would be interested in a table ASAP

Many Thanks

Aylesbury U17's lose narrowly to Amersham & Chiltern
Written by Bob Hardman
Monday, 31 March 2008

Aylesbury under 17's met local rivals Amersham and Chiltern in the semi final of the South West Bowl competition on Sunday 30th march at Weedon lane. The pitch was very heavy although the sun was out.

Aylesbury Started the game with a quick try by pacey winger Rich Nicholls after receiving a peach of a pass from in form Fullback Wes McGympsy. Amersham replied in kind with a well worked try and conversion. Aylesbury then had to soak up the pressure from a big Amersham pack, who just before half time scored a push over try to leave the score 12 to 5 to A&C. The second half started as the first half had finished with a further try from the A&C pack, Aylesbury then rallied and took charge of the game and dominated both possession and territory, they kicked to penalties as A&C lost their discipline under the pressure, however as the under foot conditions worsened and with Aylesbury spending most of the remainder of the match in the opposition half they were unable to come back with a match winner, and some fantastic line breaks by both fly half Corey Hircock and Wes McGympsy under lined the A's attitude. However it was not to be as the game ended with a 17 to 11 win for the hosts. We wish A&C all the best in the final against Bristol .
